Is it possible to lock a rate BEFORE the client finds a house?
In my 20 years as a Mortgage Loan Officer I have never seen rates increase (or decrease) by 3% in just 2.5 months. And what's worse, rates are expected to continue to go up.
Many buyers are not only disheartened (to put it mildly) by their offers not being accepted, but now the sharply rising rates have added insult to injury.
Well now there is some potential relief! We can now lock a client's rate for 90 days while they look for a home!
