About Tammy

Tammy Scarlett entered the mortgage industry with a mission: to financially empower women everywhere. She started her journey in 2001 as a Senior Manager at a mortgage company and used this experience to open her very own all-women mortgage brokerage in 2003. She is continuing to create an experience that is both personal and informative for her clients, so they can continue to make decisions that are right for them, with benefits that last long after closing on their home.

As a prominent leader in the industry, Tammy created and launched a curriculum called Financial Foundations for Life, which offered free education to the public on basic to advanced financial topics. She served on the boards for WAMB, NAMB and currently travels to speak at events and facilitate workshops to help people further their personal lives and careers. Tammy currently facilitates the peer consulting group RISE for Women in Real Estate, and as a member of the Forbes Councils, is an author and contributor to Forbes.com.

Tammy studied for her Bachelor’s degree at Liberty University, her Master’s of Business Administration at Ellis University and her Master’s in Social Anthropology at Harvard University. When she isn’t working towards empowering the community, you can find Tammy enjoying yoga, traveling, kickboxing or singing on one of Chicago’s many stages.
