Kelsey’s Pull-Apart Tree Bread

Make a savory treat for one of our sweetest holidays

Ingredients

1 lb. refrigerated pizza dough

7 mozzarella sticks

1 egg

1 tbsp. water

1/4 cup melted butter

1/2 cup finely grated parmesan

1 tbsp. thinly sliced basil

1 tbsp. chopped parsley

1 tbsp. chopped rosemary

Marinara sauce

Directions

  1. Preheat the oven to 450 degrees. Line a large baking sheet with parchment paper. Cut the mozzarella sticks into 1-inch pieces and set them aside.
  2. Flour a work surface and divide the pizza dough into two pieces. Stretch and roll each piece of dough into a long rectangle, then cut into 2-inch squares.
  3. Wrap each dough square around a piece of mozzarella, forming a tightly sealed ball. Place balls seam-side down on a baking sheet in the shape of a Christmas tree. Whisk the egg and water together to create an egg wash, then brush each dough ball.
  4. Bake until golden, roughly 15-20 minutes.

While baking, whisk together the melted butter, parmesan, and herbs. Brush the mixture onto the baked pizza bells. Warm up your favorite marinara sauce and serve alongside the bread for dipping.
