New Beginnings

How do you stay the course and remain optimistic when confronted with today’s reality? The answer is simple. You must live without excuses.

With all of the changes and obstacles we have had to deal with as a result of the Coronavirus, it reminds me of a quote my mother drilled into me as a child: “When one door closes, another one always opens up.” My mother went on to explain to me that there is always an opportunity for a “New Beginning.” When you stop and think about it, change is often thrust upon us and today is certainly no exception.

Our “New Beginning” has forced all us to slow down and learn new ways of being, doing, and managing our uncertainty, which is a true gift. We have been given the opportunity to brainstorm, to be creative with new ways of serving others (whether within our families or our businesses) and to rediscover ways to sit back and simply enjoy life.

Of course, this all sounds great, but let’s be honest: frustration has had a tendency to cloud our vision of the opportunity for a “New Beginning.” So how do you stay the course and remain optimistic when confronted with today’s reality? The answer is simple. You must live without excuses.

I implore you to take responsibility for your minds and actions. If we keep making excuses and blame our circumstances, others, or anything for that matter, we will never be able to embrace the opportunity for a “New Beginning.” To a very large extent, we can control our own destiny.

It is not your circumstances that may have you down. It is your thoughts about your circumstances that have you down. I believe it is possible to be in one of the biggest battles of your life and still be filled with joy, peace, and victory if you simply learn how to choose the right thoughts. In the end, while troublesome times will come and go, it is your attitude, belief, and unwavering faith that will see you through and improve your life.

I pray that all of you and your families are safe and healthy and embrace this “New Beginning” as something that will propel your life toward greatness and riches only previously dreamed about.

Now go on through the door that has been opened for you and never look back.
