Marisa’s Blackberry Glazed Chicken

Sweet and savory – the perfect summer grill combo!


6 oz. blackberries

1/4 cup water

2 tbsps. white wine vinegar

1 tbsps. sugar

2 tbsps. butter

1 tbsp. whole-grain mustard

4 chicken thighs

4 chicken drumsticks

Kosher salt

Black pepper

Fresh parsley 


  1. Use medium heat to get your grill hot.
  2. Combine the blackberries, water, white wine vinegar, and sugar in a small saucepan. Simmer, mashing occasionally, until the liquid is reduced to about 2 tbsps. Stir in your butter and whole-grain mustard before setting the glaze aside in a bowl.
  3. Pat the chicken thighs and drumsticks dry before seasoning with kosher salt and black pepper. Grill, skin-sides up and covered, for 15 minutes. Uncover and baste with some of the glaze. Continue grilling, turning and basting on occasion, until the chicken is cooked through, about 10 to 12 more minutes.
  4. Sprinkle with fresh parsley and serve with the remaining glaze.
