CrossCountry Mortgage Branch Makes Continued Investment in Boston Community

BOSTON, May 18, 2022The Marquis Team of CrossCountry Mortgage (CCM) in Boston, has partnered with non-profit Friends of Boston’s Homeless to end homelessness in the area. Through monetary donations and volunteer opportunities, the team is helping people currently living on the street or in shelters move into safe, stable housing and get connected to the vital services and opportunities needed to rebuild their lives.

Over the last three years, the Marquis Team donated nearly $100,000 to Friends of Boston’s Homeless. The team’s monthly contributions support innovative, solution-oriented programs with proven results.

“At the start of the pandemic, we knew we needed to find a way to help our most vulnerable neighbors,” said Andrew Marquis, senior vice president, CCM. “Friends of Boston’s Homeless allowed us to give back to the community and utilize our area of expertise – getting people into stable, permanent housing.”

Founded in 1987, Friends of Boston’s Homeless programs have been helping people move from the streets and shelters into safe, dignified housing to live peaceful, hopeful, fulfilling lives for more than 35 years.  From basic emergency services to permanent housing, the services provided by the nonprofit have proven track records within the Boston community.

“We focus on removing the final barriers of transition that city and state programs, and the people they help, don’t have the means to cover,” said Mariann Bucina Roca, executive director, Friends of Boston’s Homeless. “The final transition steps out of homelessness are often the most crucial, and the donations from The Marquis Team help make them happen.”

Since its founding, CMM has embraced community support as a core value and has a history of donating time and resources to deserving organizations in the communities it serves.

“As one of America’s largest and fastest growing mortgage lenders, we welcome the responsibility to help make the community we serve a better place to live, work and raise a family,” continued Marquis. “Our community partnership with Friends of Boston’s Homeless has helped us make significant strides toward that goal.”
