Series kicks-off with Earth Day 5K at Cleveland Metroparks Zoo April 21
Cleveland Metroparks announced the return of the Cleveland Metroparks Race Series presented by CrossCountry Mortgage. This year the race and walk series features four unique races across Cleveland Metroparks and Cleveland Metroparks Zoo and is designed to encourage exploration and exercise throughout the year.
The 2024 Cleveland Metroparks Race Series presented by CrossCountry Mortgage kicks-off with the Earth Day 5K at Cleveland Metroparks Zoo on April 21 at 8:30 a.m. Pre-registration is now available through April 20 and participants receive entry into the Zoo, refreshments, a custom race shirt and finisher medal. A portion of the proceeds from the Earth Day 5K support green practices and sustainability efforts at the Zoo.
“Now in its third year, we are excited to be continuing the tradition of the Cleveland Metroparks Race Series with CrossCountry Mortgage as a great way to experience the parks, connect with nature, wildlife and our park community,” said Cleveland Metroparks CEO Brian M. Zimmerman.
Full Cleveland Metroparks 2024 Race Series Schedule
The full race schedule for the 2024 series includes:
- Earth Day 5K on April 21: Support the Cleveland Metroparks Zoo sustainability efforts.
- Whiskey Island 5K on August 25: Explore the Whiskey Island Trail and Wendy Park Bridge to benefit Cleveland Metroparks K-9 unit.
- Future For Wildlife 5K on October 6: Help Cleveland Metroparks Zoo secure a future for wildlife by running for conservation efforts to protect animals in the wild.
- Veterans 5K on November 10: Walk or run through Edgewater Beach in honor of our nation’s veterans.
Pre-registration for each race is $30, or take the CrossCountry Mortgage challenge and sign up for all four races to save $20.
