I’ll be with you every step of the way

Hello! My name is Matthew Smith, and I’m a loan officer in Chattanooga, TN. I joined the mortgage industry in July 2026 because I felt called to help others and solve problems. This career has allowed me to build relationships with people from all professions and backgrounds, enabling me to connect clients with trusted professionals and resources to help them achieve their goals.

Before joining CrossCountry Mortgage, I worked as a school counselor, where I developed strong communication skills that I now use to make the loan process transparent, stress-free and easy to understand. Specializing in purchase loans, I’ll leverage the resources of America’s #1 Retail Mortgage Lender to help you find the right loan for your home.

I’m married to my wife, Megan, and we have four children: Zeik, Zandon, Lucy, and Barrett. We’ve been proud foster parents for six years and believe every child deserves love and protection. As a family, we love traveling and exploring the world together!
