Your biggest decision is my biggest passion
Hi, I’m Stacey Grimes. With more than 34 years in the mortgage industry, I’ve experienced just about every market cycle—and learned how to guide clients through all of them with confidence.
I began my career as a mortgage lender within a banking environment, which gave me a strong foundation and a full-picture understanding of the home financing process. Over the years, I’ve been involved in every stage—from origination to underwriting to closing—so my clients benefit from experience that goes well beyond just the transaction.
As a Florida native, I’m proud to serve my community and clients across Florida, Alabama, Georgia, Texas, and Missouri with America’s #1 Retail Mortgage Lender. I work with a wide range of buyers—from first-time homeowners to seasoned investors and second-home clients—and have extensive experience navigating condo and unique property financing.
I’m also passionate about education, regularly hosting and participating in homebuyer and industry events, and sharing insights from training with organizations like Fannie Mae and Florida Housing with both buyers and Realtor partners.
I don’t keep a strict 9-to-5—because real life doesn’t either. I’m here when my clients need me. And when I’m not working, you’ll usually find me enjoying music, being outdoors, or spending time by the water.

To determine how much home you can afford, you’ll want to assess your financial situation. This includes your income, expenses, and debt-to-income ratio, to ensure your mortgage fits comfortably within your budget. A general guideline is to spend no more than 28% of your gross monthly income on housing costs and 36% on total debt.
-
A good credit score typically starts at 620 for conventional loans, while FHA and VA loans may accept scores as low as 500, though higher scores offer better terms. A strong credit score can help you secure lower interest rates, saving you significant money over the life of a home loan.
-
A Home Equity Line of Credit (HELOC) is a revolving line of credit that allows homeowners to borrow against the equity in their home. HELOCs function like a credit card, giving access to funds up to a set limit, which can be used for expenses like renovations or debt consolidation. You only pay interest on the amount you borrow, and the repayment terms typically include a draw period followed by a repayment period.
